Hello and welcome!
We are the Parent Council (PC) and we are a representative group for all parents and carers with children at the school. The PC provides a way of expressing parents' views to the school and the Scottish Borders Council and provides a sounding board for school staff.
The objectives of the Parent Council are:
– To promote partnership and open communication between the school, its pupils and all its parents and carers
– To develop and engage in activities which support the education and welfare of the pupils
– To identify and represent the views of parents on the education provided by the school and other matters affecting the education and welfare of the pupils
– To raise funds to benefit the School and pupils in a forum that works in harmony with the school and the wider community.
Our goal for this year is: Increase Parental Engagement through focus groups led by parents and with the guidance of the teaching staff. These groups will give parents/carers the opportunity to play an active role in the school improvement plan.
Everyone is welcome to join the Parent Council. We want for all parents and carers to be heard and help us work in partnership with the school to improve the children’s learning experience, you can also get involved with our fundraising.
We meet at the school for 4 meetings each year but you can contribute views, ideas and suggestions to the Parent Council at any time during the year. To do so please email us: [email protected] visit Gordon Primary Parent Council on facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/512917595925233/ or use the contact form below.
